Everest Base Camp Trek Day 2 | Phakding to Namche Bazar Journey & Permits Info
Day 2 of my Everest Base Camp Trek – from Phakding to Namche Bazar (10–11 km).
It’s a sunny day in the Himalayas, and the trail is full of adventure. We started the morning with a simple breakfast of toast, boiled eggs, and lemon tea, then crossed multiple suspension bridges on our way to Namche Bazar.
Along the way, we met Tibetan monks, visited my guide’s sister’s house for tea, and enjoyed delicious momos at Jorsalle.
In this vlog, I also explain everything about the permits required for the Everest Base Camp trek – including the Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit and the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit.
At Monjo, permits were checked and bags inspected for drones. I also share important details about drone fees in the Everest region for foreigners, SAARC nationals, and Nepalis.
Finally, after a long climb, we reached the vibrant mountain town of Namche Bazar (3440m). I checked into The Bodhi Hotel, located near the stupa. The hotel offers clean rooms, a large dining hall, WiFi, hiking activities, mini-golf, and pet-friendly rooms.
Dinner was a hearty Dal Bhat, and I’ll be staying here tomorrow for acclimatization before continuing further toward Everest Base Camp.
