Lunch at Jorsalle III – Warm Momo, Mountain Air & Trekking Spirit | EBC Day 2

Image
During Day 2 of my Everest Base Camp Trek, we stopped at Jorsalle III , a quiet and scenic resting point before the steep climb to Namche Bazaar. We went into the Friendship Lodge & Restaurant , a cozy spot that felt welcoming in the chill mountain air. I ordered Momo with soup , a classic Himalayan comfort meal. The momo was warm and flavorful, perfect for a trek day. I’ve decided to keep my meal pattern simple during this trek — momo, thukpa, chowmein for lunch and dal-bhat for dinner to restore energy. My guide brought the food along with ketchup and chili sauce , which felt like a thoughtful touch. These small gestures, simple food, and shared moments are what make trekking so meaningful.

Detailed guide to Everest Base Camp permits, Sagarmatha National Park Entry, Khumbu Rural Municipality fees, and trekking formalities from Monjo.

Image
The Everest Base Camp trek is more than just a journey through the Himalayas—it’s a cultural, spiritual, and environmental experience. One of the most important checkpoints along this journey is the Sagarmatha National Park Gate , located in the village of Monjo . This is where trekkers officially enter the Sagarmatha region and complete essential documentation before continuing towards Namche Bazaar and higher altitudes. Where is Monjo Located? Monjo is a small, peaceful village located between Phakding and Namche Bazaar . It sits just before the famous Namche Hill , which is one of the steepest uphill climbs on the EBC route. Trekkers typically reach Monjo on Day 1 or Day 2, depending on their pace and itinerary. Two Permits Required for Everest Base Camp To trek to Everest Base Camp, every traveler must have the following two permits: Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit You cannot proceed past Monjo with...

Mysuru Day 2 – Exploring Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens | Mysore Zoo Travel Guide

Image
Welcome to Wanderer’s Way ! 🌿 On Day 2 of my Mysuru trip, I visited the famous Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens , also known as Mysore Zoo — established in 1892 by Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar . After independence, it became a state government asset and remains one of India’s most iconic wildlife parks. Since the main gate was under maintenance, entry was via a clean, well-maintained underground subway — quite unique! Entry fees are ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children, with ₹200 for cameras. Visiting hours run from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. If you want to cover the zoo quickly, hop on the charging vehicle — it’s the best way to explore without missing any exhibits! 🦁

Sagarmatha National Park Gate | The Official Start of Everest Base Camp Trek πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

Image
The Sagarmatha National Park Gate in Monjo marks the official starting point of the Everest Base Camp Trek — one of the most iconic hiking routes in the world πŸ”️ Every trekker must obtain an entry permit here before continuing toward Namche Bazaar and the Everest region. The checkpoint also ensures that visitors comply with drone regulations and park rules to preserve the fragile Himalayan environment 🌿 If you plan to fly a drone in Sagarmatha National Park, you’ll need special approval from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation and the District Administration Office . This gate represents the spirit of responsible adventure — combining exploration, respect, and conservation. #wanderersway #ebctrek #everestbasecamp #nepaltravel #sagarmathanationalpark #trekkingnepal #everestvlog #mountainpermit #himalayanjourney #nepalstories

Chhath Puja: The Sacred Festival of Sun Worship

Image
Chhath Puja is a divine Hindu festival dedicated to Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya. This sacred tradition includes fasting without water, offering prayers to the rising and setting sun, and standing in a holy river. Revered since Vedic times and mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, it symbolizes purity, gratitude, and the eternal connection between humans and nature.

Welcome to Wanderer’s Way ! On Day 2 of my Mysuru journey, I started my morning at the divine Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills . Whether you trek up the stairs or drive to the top, the views and vibes are worth it. Visit early to experience serenity, devotion, and the golden sunrise over Mysuru. πŸŒ„

Unexpected Kindness on the Everest Trail | Tea, Rain & Himalayan Stories ☕πŸ”️

Image
The Everest Base Camp trek isn’t just about reaching a destination — it’s about the people you meet along the way. During Day 2 of my trek, my guide took me to his sister’s home in the mountains. She welcomed us with warm tea , a gesture so simple yet deeply meaningful — and refused to accept payment. ❤️ After this touching encounter, we continued our journey toward our next stop. Along the trail, I found a natural rain shelter made of rock , hidden in a mountain gorge — a small wonder of nature offering comfort to trekkers in rain and wind. 🌧️ These are the moments that make the Himalayas unforgettable — stories of kindness, simplicity, and resilience that stay with you long after the trek ends. #wanderersway #ebctrek #everestbasecamp #nepaltravel #mountainstories #trekkingnepal #everestvlog #himalayanadventure

Breakfast at Phakding | Day 2 Everest Base Camp Trek πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

Image
A crisp morning in Phakding, Nepal πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅ , greeted me with the smell of toast, eggs, and lemon tea. The food here is simple yet surprisingly expensive — but that’s part of the Himalayan charm! Everything you eat or drink is carried up through narrow trails by porters or mules. After breakfast, I packed up for the trek to Namche Bazar (3,440 m) , crossing my first suspension bridge — one of the most thrilling parts of the Everest trail. 🏞️ Follow my full journey in the Everest Base Camp Trek series on Wanderer’s Way , where adventure meets authenticity in every step. πŸŒ„ #ebctrek #nepaltravel #wanderersway #namchebazar #phakding #trekkingnepal #everestbasecamp

The Soulful Street Singer of Bengaluru — A Melody Beyond Words

Image
In the quiet corners of Hennagara , I met a woman who turned the street into her stage. She had no name, no instruments — only a handmade piece and a song that carried emotion deeper than language. As she sang, shop owners paused, children listened, and I — a traveler with tea in hand — felt something shift inside. This was real music , the kind that doesn’t seek applause but connection. Through Wanderer’s Way , I share these moments of unscripted beauty — stories of people who remind us that art still breathes in everyday life.
